Vesuvio Cafe - A San Francisco Lounges Gem

Had a couple of Negronis and they were well made. The bartender was friendly and great atmosphere. A San Francisco treat.

Vesuvio Café is a truly unique spot with an incredible atmosphere. The walls are adorned with paintings and photographs from different eras, along with art for sale by local artists, creating a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern flair. It's the kind of place where every corner tells a story. We stopped in for a couple of margaritas while enjoying the relaxed, intimate vibe on our date. It was the perfect setting to soak in the eclectic decor and unwind. Although the service was understandably a bit stretched due to how busy it was, our server did an amazing job handling it all with grace and efficiency. Huge kudos to her! This place is a must-visit for its character and charm.

Cool and historic bar in North Beach. Went on a Wednesday night, so it was pretty mellow but that's kinda my vibe of preference.

The four is because it's a historical landmark--I loved being there. I felt steeped in history!! I wandered around looking at pictures and memorabilia for quite some time. What didn't happen was any kind of service. It wasn't overly busy since it was a weekday, but we never had any wait staff approach us.

Classic North beach bar with a lot of history, there is always ample upstairs tables in the day and a few outside in Jack Kerouac Alley but it gets more crowded at night. I actually prefer it in the day because it's fun to walk around North Beach with a buzz then go hang out in Washington Square Park. The name Vesuvio café is a bit misleading as they don't have any food here. It's just a bar. I usually stick with beer, and I'd recommend the 805 Blond Lager which is light if you don't like ales or darker beers.

My bartender, Chase, epitomized the cool San Francisco vibe--attentive service, engaging conversation, and expertly crafted cocktails. The second-floor balcony offers a unique perspective of the bustling neighborhood. Next time, I'll raise my Highly recommended!
